TAKE OFF - Lauren

Rockets use rocket fuel, (liquid fuel / solid fuel), to take off, and they use a lot of force to take off because the rocket has to break through earth's gravity, which is very powerful. Earth has a strong force of gravity, which means that the rocket gets pulled down to the ground as well as all of the other objects on earth, therefore, it takes a while for the rocket to escape earth. For the rocket to have enough power to blast through earth's gravity force, the rocket has to carry many tanks of fuel. Once a Rocket fuel tank is completely used up, the rocket lets it out of the rocket and into space, so that the rocket isn't carrying more weight than necessary, because the lighter the rocket, the more power it has and the faster it goes. The force of the gas escaping from the rocket also helps the rocket to break through earth's gravity.
